  1. This article describes it perfectly http://www.chud.com/articles/articles/23805/1/THE-DEVIN039S- ADVOCATE-LOST039S-BIG-GNOSTIC-WET-FART-ENDING/Page1.html
  2. Toggle SpoilerThe emotional character relationship crap got resolved, but that's about it. Why would the power of the island be so dangerous to the rest of the world? Why does it have to be protected? Why did the pregnant women die on the island? What was with the numbers? There's a bunch of big plot points from the first seasons that never got revisited.
  3. Toggle SpoilerMy expectations were probably a bit high for this but.. I can't help but feel disappointed. I was waiting for some major event to happen for the entire duration of the episode and it never came.

    [Movie] Oldboy

Just watched Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. Not bad! Kinda different from Oldboy, there was no beautiful music to ease all the gory violence. Toggle SpoilerI liked the end. Eye for an eye and soon the whole world is blind, and so on. Next up, the third part of the trilogy.

  17. Toggle SpoilerI think this'll continue with the trend of things in lost never being what they seem at first. They'll probably completely shatter the whole good/bad black/white scheme they've been pushing so far. Maybe the goodies are baddies and the baddies are goodies
  18. Still enjoying it! Yup yup!
  19. I think it's a shame that important issues get buried under the weight of some single person's (who's somehow characterized as representing some entire side of things) mistakes, and the main issue becomes MICHAEL MOORE IS A LIAR instead of what the fuck is wrong with this world, and how can we fix it. Sure, Michael Moore hasn't been entirely honest in all of his work, but it's still mostly factual, if anything he's guilty of representing things in a way where fucking evil people look even more fucking evil. Doesn't make them not evil.
  20. Although I agree that the ends don't really justify the means when it comes to dishonest methods just to get your message across, but I think this gets a little overplayed in Moore's case. Regardless, he, again, showed some of the ridiculous absurdities in the American political system. I'm in awe of the capacity for people to support a system that so blatantly works against them. I think the message here is far more important than Moore's methods of conveying it. He didn't exactly make these things up.

    [Movie] Oldboy

So I was looking around for good movies to watch and I came across this one. It's from 2003. It's an asian film, South Korean to be precise, based on a Japanese manga. It had received some very high ratings, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Several times during the movie I couldn't help but notice how visually stunning it was. Coupled with a great soundtrack, a lot of the scenes were nothing the like of which you see in western films. The fight scenes were incredibly cool. Speaking of which, there's quite a bit of fairly graphic violence. The plot is what bugged me a bit. On one hand, it was very clever and managed to pull a few twists that caught me off guard. On the other, it was a bit too much on the plain strange side. Then again, this has always been my experience with asian movies. On some level I just don't understand them. I'd recommend this movie, though. There's a lot that I liked about it. Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone.
