No emails, it just got added to my battle.net app wow section.

I opted into the beta through the account management tab in their site when it came available like week ago. So I guess that helped dunno..

 

EDIT: Got an email like 10mins ago telling I got to the stress test.. so there is emails after all

AHh I just got an email - this sounds awful. Not quite sure why anyone would want to do this? Couple of hours of shitty lagged out, no spawns to kill, and max level 5?! Although maybe if we do log in with get priority to subsequent invites etc

Gave it a spin since I got the stress test invite and ... well, I have to admit I was partially wrong. I do miss the game and the mechanics behind it.

I think I had 6-7 hours /played when the server finally went down 😶

We have just wrapped up the first stress test for WoW Classic and while we understand the concerns that a number of you have mentioned, it helped us in many ways. Testing the login process is certainly an aspect that is very important for us to explore and we did gather some valuable data yesterday, so we appreciate everybody who logged in or even attempted to do so during the testing window – you have helped us prepare WoW Classic for release.

That said, because of some of the issues that were encountered, we were not able to test other aspects that we’d planned for. As a result, we will be doing another stress test on Wednesday, May 29 from 2-4pm PDT. The stress test realm will become available at 2pm PDT and the level cap will be increased to 10. For access, we will be including everybody who was invited to the test on May 22. Similar to last time, the stress test realm will continue to be available until 4pm PDT on Thursday, May 30 so there is additional time to check out the starting experiences.

Please keep in mind that while more issues could impact the play experience, it is very important to perform these tests so we can learn about and fix as many of them as possible before the release on August 27. We thank you for your continued support and we’ll see you back on the WoW Classic stress test realm very soon.

Im really debating if I will be able to chose anything else than mage at the moment. It's just so freaking convenient to be able to make water/food, portals, AOE farm, the utility with Polymorph, frost nova, slows..

The buttons are a bit messed up since I play it from 2 computers and stuff gets moved around a bit since they dont have the exact same UI.

hahahahah IM POSITIVE. but the WoW is not good enought to fullfil my satisfaction. and i tried Retail since i cant play that stupid beta.

Maybe is time for Blizzard to develop a new MMORPG?

They are doing mobile stuff.... tbh i dislike play on mobiles.... too small... finger over the screen covering it.... no good. And they just copied LIneage II Revolution for his Diablo Immortal.... what a dissapoint.

I subbed to retail too, it's so confusing. Not going to be getting the expansion though.

I'm absolutely giving this a go. I've been playing retail for varying amounts of the time last few expansions, often starting 1-2 weeks into the expansion and playing couple months. It's been ok, but aside from the grafics it's a completely different game these days, for better and/or worse.

 

Seeing streamers play the beta they highlight how much the old mechanics are a big part of why they find it fun. Some systems are of course clunky (hunters needing arrows, no easy switching specs etc) but others are just simplified and it seems a lot of fun going back to it.

 

So just because retail might not be your thing, don't write of classic completely. Not saying you'll like it for sure, I have a big list of things I might not like, but I think it's worth a chance just as much as I gave EQ Progressions servers etc a go.

Never made it past level 28 or 32 in wow. Wouldnt mind having a look at all the PvE dungeon content and stuffs.

Anyone have a small TLDR rundown of what I can expect with this classic, as in pve, dungeon, raid content. And what kind of PvP stuff there is?

I was going to write some tldr but it was too much stuff to make tldr.. instead I copy&pasted the phases which should give some idea how things going.. and some random rambling..

So basically you can pvp in all phases but it only starts to matter gearwise in phase 2. That said it's the old pvp system which requires a lot of time for the high quality gear.. last ranks are only for people who can live in the battlegrounds for like 16-18h/day. 

For pve all 5mans should be easily done with randoms but most of the raids are 40man so I don't know how soon and how far people can do these with random people. Pretty much need to have a  guild if you want to see the raids..

Professions matter again wheeeee... I'm so going to level my fishing and cooking which I totally didn't do back in vanilla because I was generally just a noob and at the end just grinding honor for the Warlord rank..

Also about pvp the p2 is going to be pretty interesting. They going to put the pvp system in and you get all the ranks and rewards etc. but there is no battlegrounds until p3. So only way to get honor is world pvp (and faction bosses but no one does those because dishonorable kills). Better be max level by then because the world is going to be just one huge gankfest.

This may sound like I'm very hyped to get back grinding honor but in reality I don't have that much time in my hands anymore.. unless I quit my job.. I'll consider.

I can see why many people went totally apeshit because of this. Definitely going to have some unofficial *insert language here* realms. You get to max level and after awhile notice most people speak something else than English. Game over.

This happened to me back in Vanilla when all my friends started at Stormreaver so of course I went there. I didn't know when I started that Stormreaver was the unofficial Finnish realm. For me(finn) it wasn't a huge problem but I know many others(non-finns) who didn't enjoy much

Are they not going to do channels after all? As in one realm for each type and then just multi channel. That is the way the beta is run, right?

The actual beta is just 2 realms pvp and pve afaik and that is just because it's the beta so not that much people in there to fill the realms. The real game will have x number of realms and from those you have some are pvp, pve and rp(are these pvp or pve i don't know). So you pick a realm when you start and then that's it. You play with those people in it. Only connection between different realms will be battlegrounds which are xrealm, so you can play against other realm's people there. Other than that you are stuck with your realm people.. in good and bad 😛
