Cogency Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Gonna dump stuff that I find about them in here. Feel free to chat along. Corsair's new 450D looks like an excellent case if you are in the market for one. Price seems solid also. [H] review; http://www.hardocp.com/article/2014/07/16/corsair_obsidian_series_450d_midtower_pc_case_review/1#.U8bqX_mSx8E
Kunasha Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Phantek's Enthoo Primo is fantastic if you're wanting a full tower with loads of air/water cooling potential. I love mine. http://www.phanteks.com/enthoo-primo.html Budget friendly and slightly smaller Enthoo Pro and Enthoo Luxe too: http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Pro.html http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Luxe.html

I have a... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-163-AN&groupid=2362&catid=160 - much less retarded I have that case (The P183) and I love it. But it is old and does not handle performance parts very well. The Enthoo Primo has a similarly clean design and the sidewindow can be replaced or easily drilled into to attach side fans. Making a hole in the p183 sidepanel was a nightmare
Cogency Report post Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) I dont like sidewindows either, but sometimes you dont have the option. (And most of the time the reviews/press pics are with window to show the option) Doesnt matter for me tho, because you cant see either side anyway in my desk setup. I have the P182 btw prequel to that P183, with the clean front and not those retarded holes. EHEHE Edited July 17, 2014 by Cogency
Drexa Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Im very happy with the case i got, the Corsair Carbide 540 one. Airflow is awesome and just like the enthoo primo you get a really clean build since psu and all cables and shit go behind the mobo. And its pretty cheap. Tumble Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Yeah actually mines the 182 rather than the 183... Have had it for years. I did struggle a little with space for the larger gfx cards but just removing the middle harddrive bay worked for me. They should just make cases with solid/windowed options (or maybe they do already?). That corsair one looks quite cool - but guess it takes up more floor/desk space being square like that?
Drexa Report post Posted July 17, 2014 It does, its about the same width as two normal cases, or maybe 1.5 fatty gamercase, so if space is an issue its no good hehe.
Cogency Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Yeah, love the 540. Excellent case.

Lyngs Report post Posted July 19, 2014 I bought the Corsair Obsidian Series 550D a little while ago. It is one awesome case! Magnetic dustfilters. Noise dampening foam. Elegant front. Easy click locks for sides and top/side panels. If it could do my dishes I would marry it!

THC Report post Posted July 23, 2014 why is the case important?. Should a computer not be as invisible as possible in the modern world? Just my thoughts. That's why I took a basic looking case without a window or neon fans etc
Cogency Report post Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) And that is exactly why the case is incredibly important. Especially with a computer that packs a little punch. Edited July 23, 2014 by Cogency
Drexa Report post Posted July 23, 2014 The only things i really think about is how easy it is to build in, how clean the build will be and how good airflow it might have. Outside looks dont matter much, but ofc its a plus if it doesnt look like a giant turd..
DeathStorm Report post Posted July 24, 2014 why is the case important?. Should a computer not be as invisible as possible in the modern world? It's simple enough, you can't have an invisible gaming box yet so in the meantime you need a decent case.
Dendil Report post Posted August 2, 2014 The missus needed a new PC, so I shopped around for something that she would A: like the look of and B: had good removable dust filters. The result is the NZXT H440 in white, and I have to say I'm jealous, it's really well thought and and put together
Kaskas Report post Posted August 4, 2014 All these cases are just... boxes... Recently a friend of mine which pretty much has no clue about pc's asked me to put one together for him. Not a single pc case he saw he liked, the ones he did like were personal mod projects which turned out awesome, and we'd never be able to get the same results It's actually kinda sad that there seems to be no market for pc cases that can become center pieces or conversation starters for a room such as: http://www.geekcivilization.com/stargate-pc-case-mod/ Or who doesn't like R2D2? http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/23/r2d2-casemod-is-affordable-convincing-evidence-of-our-continued/ This one just makes me think one thing: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! This one really is worth looking at, the work the dude put into it, it's pretty epic imo. http://englishrussia.com/2009/04/08/russian-wall-e-case-mod/
Dendil Report post Posted August 5, 2014 The problem with case mods like those is either going to be cost, or having access to someone who has the skill to make one. Which is essentially the same problem because if you don't have a personal friendship with the latter, then the former will be the barrier. In that case I'll take a well designed case like the one I bought for the missus (which I'm jealous of if you didn't notice already).
Cogency Report post Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) Hmmm, this might be my next case; NZXT H440 Edited August 20, 2014 by Cogency
Dendil Report post Posted August 20, 2014 Thats the one I bought the Missus Cog. Quiet, lots of options for routing cables, mounting for SSD's, seperate compartment for the PSU, dust filters front and bottom (PSU mounted fan down), front are magnetic. Top of the case is designed for mounting liquid cooling radiators too. Best case I've ever bought, might have to get one for myself
