    AMD & Nvidia gfx blabla.

Interesting. Looks like I should wait for a couple more years before changing monitor, as it looks like nvidia are going to lose the sync format war

How long is early access? This looks like it is either really confident that reviews will want people to buy it, or they are relying on the preorder hype buys before reviews kill it. Maybe I'm a bit too cynical

Nah, you don't really need that

    3D Mark 11 - Now Timespy!

My last dual card setup was crossfire, and a while ago now (980ti replaced it). I only had the benefit when playing fullscreen back then. Your next viable upgrade sounds like a bigger and wider monitor, losing horizontal pixel count but gaining vertical. Possibly adding in gsync to future proof your current cards for longer. I'm with you on the justification though, definitely getting harder

That second card is giving you quite an improvement over my result, but how often do you run fullscreen and use it? It is is this point that made me revert to 1 card for my last upgrade, and probably my future ones too

It's beautiful, a little cheesy, but fun to play through. The group content was quite fun too

    AMD & Nvidia gfx blabla.

1 x 980ti still pushes 60+ fps 1440p fine for me. If it stops hitting that then I might be better off investing in a gsync monitor

    M.2 NvME SSD

also, then 3xGPU and 5 x SATA drives before you need to worry (apart from up 2 x M2 drives which aren't an issue at all)

    M.2 NvME SSD

yes, because you'd use ports 1 and 2

It looks like the main changes from Z270 and Z390 chipsets are what components share PCI-Lanes. For your board Cogency, M2 is out of picture really. It's now on the 3rd GPU PCI-E port for you Your BIOS options on left, mine on right Thing yours is referring to:

    M.2 NvME SSD

Your chipset not too bad https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z390-F-GAMING/specifications/ Intel® Z390 Chipset : 1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (both SATA & PCIE mode)*1 1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 storage devices support (PCIE 3.0 x 4 mode) 6 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s) Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10 Intel® Optane™ Memory Ready *1 When the M.2_1 Socket 3 is operating in SATA mode, SATA port 2 will be disable. The manual confirms it is 1 of your 6 SATA ports. It does this due to the number of PCI-E lanes available. Edit: if you are using PCI-E for both M2, you still get your 6 SATA ports

    M.2 NvME SSD

You will need to look at the manual for your motherboard

    3D Mark 11 - Now Timespy!

You should take the opportunity to install BDO for a bit and run around solo getting knowledge in Remastered mode. It's very pretty and won't cost you anything
