As the roaring warp drive engine flung his Machariel through space Fenix Skjem found himself missing the old days. He missed piloting the 1500 meter long metal behemot with an actual stick. He missed resting his hand on the throttle knowing that 95.000 tons responded to his every twitch.
”Nowdays it’s all shiny screens and touch buttons. Bloody things don't feel right if you ask me, not a proper way to pilot.”, he muttered as the blue star Zhilshinou rushed ever closer.
They had been battling the Sansha pirates for almost a full week. Their leader, Sansha Kuvakei, had led his hoard into high security space in search for colonies to lay waste and stations to ransack.
Fenix had seen the tapes of their approach, as had anyone else catching a glimpse of a news broadcast the last couple days. The wormhole ripping space apart and through the portal of searing light a seemingly endless flood of bulbous metallic vessels, covered in spines, poured out. Like a plague they spread in all directions and the last thing the satelite camera captured was the golden flash of a laser before white noise filled the screen.
But the Sanshas had come to pay for their insolence in blood. Together with other volunteers in "The Valhalla Project" Fenix had slain hundreds, if not thousands, of pirates during the course of the battle. His Machariel, the H.M.S. Niflheim, had gotten its fair share of nicks and dents. ”Bah, they remind me of the good times. Of the times I got away” he had told his friend Heliann when he asked why he didn’t have them fixed.
The furious fighting had led them up to this moment. One of the Sanshas Motherships, a Kundalini Manifest, had earlier that day been warped in by the pirates to give their wavering forces something to rally around. CONCORD, the law and order of high security space, issued an immediate command that it’d be destroyed at all costs. Little did Fenix and his comrades care about what CONCORD actually wanted, but as long as they payed in millions of cold hard ISK their wishes was worth fulfilling.
As the Machariel suddenly dropped him out of warp speed the searing light of the nearby star was almost blinding. Fenix payed no attention to it, nor to his radar which suddenly filled up with a myriad of blinking blips. Instead he looked out. It didn’t matter how many times he saw it, the sight of an armada silently floating in space never failed to awe him. He saw the close range Vindicators ready to tear hulls asunder with their blasters, terrifying Nightmares born of the Sansha pirates themselves, the sleek Machariels with their massive artillery cannons and inbetween the gigantic battleships smaller logistic vessels darting back and forth.
Suddenly his radio receiver crackled and a brief static was followed by Relic Amatins firm voice.
”Calling all wings, align to the Kundalini Manifest. We engage warp in 30 seconds. It’s time we end this.”
Fenix reached towards the big flat screen infront of him. ”It might not be a stick, but gets the job done”, he thought to himself as he slid his fingers across the blank surface. The Machariel started turning and as he looked out he could see the armada turning with him.
Relic was right, it was time to end this.
Those of us still flying around in EVE have started doing Incursions, which is basically the space equivalent of raids. This is the end of a week long such Incursion where a fleet of about 80 people take down a mothership.
It might not seem too impressing, but keep in mind that fleet in the video has a rough value of 250 billion ISK, which translates to about 12500$, and it can all be lost. There's a certain excitement while flying around in something valuable that can be taken away any moment.
We'll keep you posted on our coming adventures as we conquer the universe.

For most Ginnungans Diablo 3 was a passionate, but short lasting, romance. We charged in, kicked copious amounts of ass, and were out the door like a barbarian whirlwind.
But some lingered. Some refused to give up the carnage. Some wanted more blood, more items, more experience and more trophies. Some were not satisfied. One of those was our Belgium Brawler, Eaglix.
Early on he set a goal for himself, to not only beat Hardcore, where your character is lost when you die, but to completely and utterly dominate it. During the months he has posted regular updates of his progress. We congratulated him when he hit Paragon level 60. Then 70, And then 80, AND THEN 90!

But Eaglix wasn't satisfied. Eaglix didn't settle for anything but perfection.

So he kept on fighting. Kept on leaping into monsters. Kept on slaying and pillaging the darkest corners of the Diablo universe. Kept on pushing and pushing, until finally the 11th of april it happened.

Balls deep in Diablo.

Eaglix became the 435th hardcore paragon level 100 character in the world and 138th in Europe. For a game that has sold over 12 000 000 copies (that's twelve MILLION children!) world wide, that's certainly something to take pride in.

Eaglix Barbarian in all its glory.

We of course caught up with our legendary barbarian for a few questions:

When were you the closest to dying?
I was close to dying more than once, but it's hard to say when the closest time was. In certain situations you can be close to dying with 100% hit points. It only takes getting stuck when you shouldn't. I remember getting stuck a few times when I was in the Paragon level 90s. I was lucky to get out each time, but it was only a matter of seconds.
I am still mortal and always will be. Death really lurks around every corner. I learned never to make plans on hardcore, as I can be dead the very next click.

Did you ever feel like giving up?
The road was very long. Where you need about 2 million experience for the first Paragon level, you need 320 million for the last. If it wasn't for all the people I met and played with I would never have had the courage to go on.
Therefore I also want to thank everyone who supported me during this long journey. I met a lof of nice people from different countries all over Europe.

What is the next goal?
As I said before, I learned not to make goals when playing Hardcore. I will still play this character to try my luck in finding more awesome items, but I also got a Monk ready to be leveled.
In the end I'd like to get all 5 Diablo classes going on Hardcore, but I don't know yet if it would be for casual leveling or to try another Paragon 100. Only time will tell.

Any shout-outs?
I want to give a shout-out to SickChicken for being the first Ginnungan I played with on Hardcore. We went from 0 to 60 together. We did die on the way, but we both eventually got there.
I also want to thank Dakiestu for the many Paragon hunts we did together. Qanelar also, who joined us for a quick 30 Paragon levels. Both very nice Ginnungans to play with.
I also want to greet my two closest followers on the softcore side, TheJudge, who is currently Paragon level 99, and Shades, who is 96.
Foxdies, for being my inspiration when I started playing Hardcore (he had already quit though).
Trenix, Aganom, Swiftpwns, Zyphi, Archantos, Dendil and the many other Ginnungans (can't name you all guys) who sent me encouraging chat messages along the way!
Last but not least (not Ginnungans this time) the many players I encountered on this long journey. Specially the Lithuanian people and co on skype and more recently the Germans on TeamSpeak! Definitely a nice community out there.

There you have it, the words of a true beast. Once again, congratulations from us all!

Picked up this one from steam, it's still in "alpha" stage but already I've played it for like 19 hours in two days.

The game has no plot or goals (and no achievements dear god) or missions yes, although a career mode is coming. Now it's just a big sandbox where you can build your own spaceships, capable of interplanetary flight, landing and taking off from foreign planets and moons, docking ships in space and all the sweet space awesomeness that NASA can only dream of now.

The game has somewhat deep learning curve, I spent almost 4 hours only building ships and failing by exploding them before even escaping orbit but boy did I have fun designing more and more complicated ships.

Here's a shortish story of my adventures in past few days.

After successfully getting my very first Gagarin moment when my Kerbal 1 reached orbit at 100km, I decided immediately that I was gonna be the first nation to land a Kerbal in the Mun.

I hastily created Kerbal 2 with a stock model lunar lander (I didn't wanna go trough yet more hours of trial and error with a lander) and in no time I had 2 shuttles in space.

The cunning plan was to refuel Kerbal 1 with Kerbal 2 and attach the lander into Kerbal 1 before leaving orbit. I found that plan stupid quickly enough, apparently some engineer didn't find it necessary for Kerbal 1 to have retrograde boosters to maneuver so I ditched it and headed for the moon with Kerbal 2. I'm sorry I don't have pics from the earlier stages of the operation but everything went smoothly (odd enough), I landed successfully on the Mun! Behold!

Everything went well, my Kerbal climbed back in the lander, boosted back into orbit and docked with the command module. At this point the Kerbanauts found out that (allegedly) the same engineer had miscalculated the amount of fuel required to get back... Kerbal 2 barely had enough fuel to escape Mun orbit but nowhere near enough to decelerate in Kerbal orbit. They would only slingshot themselves in to the void.

I spent good deal of yesterday trying to come up a with an escape plan. After many many fails (and crashes), I came into conclusion that I needed a bigger rocket (duh) and that I would have to refuel it before sending it to the Mun.

Here you can see the rescue craft Kerbal XB on the left docked into the stellar gas station Kerbal XI.

Alas, I found out again that even Kerbal XB wasn't going to be enough to go around the Mun and come back hauling yet another craft with it. At this point I was frustrated at engineering yet another rocket and it suddenly came clear to me! The gas hauling
fuel truck Kerbal XI had more than enough resources to pull off the rescue mission. I only needed to refuel it before leaving off so just like in Armageddon I built another just like one and met them in low orbit.

Docking 2 beasts of this size was no easy feat. I sure learned how to move around in 3 dimensions in this operation...

Before heading off I just needed to spread the fuel cargo evenly among the tanks so that my vessel wont spin out of control when I hit the thrusters... Of course! Everyone knows that!

And here we are! Another Kerbal vessel in Mun orbit!

Succesful capture! Notice the ditched lunar lander in upper left corner, goodbye. Now it's time to head home.

But we were not out of the woods yet. I had had to use so much fuel in aligning the orbit of my rescue craft that even though I had more than enough for return flight, I wasn't sure I had enough to retroboost 2 vessels back into atmosphere. So back in the orbit of Kerbal the most daring space maneuver was about to happen.

I used all the fuel I had left to brake in order to just barely hit the atmosphere and ditched the heroic fuel barge. Now I had 2 command modules bolted to each other facing each other with no fuel left to do anything else but roll around. The joint crafts used the heat shield of Kerbal 1 to enter atmosphere and as soon as our speeds were low enough, both command modules launched their parachutes simultaneously as they undocked each other. I wasn't even nearly sure that the docking ports were gonna hold the G-forces.

But they did and in the end both vessels ended coming down just 150 meters from each other!

As they were so close each other the 2 crew decided to meet after such a daredevil mission to celebrate and here they are. The heroes of Kerbal!

The courageous rescuers of Kerbal XI on top of their own command module, the legendary heroes of Kerbal 2 on the ground with Jebediah, the first Kerbal to step on the Mun on the right. Notice the broken docking port leaning against the module that finally broke off when touching down.

After this whole ordeal I've really learned something about designing a spacecraft and commandeering them. Next stop is the second moon of Kerbla, Minmus!

Where do you live?

I live in Silkeborg, the most beautiful city in Denmark. It is surrounded by large (by Danish standards) lakes and forrest.

What MMO do you play at the moment?

Trying hard to find time to play EVE. "Someone" keeps sending me invites for Hello Kitty Online but I just dont have the time.

Any other games currently?

Sadly not. It has been a long time since I played anything that could keep my interest for more than a few hours.

What was your first computer game ever?

I think it was an early version of pong on a Atari 2600, but to be sure I would have to tab into parts of my brain that hasnt been active for decades.

What was your first multiplayer online experience?

If by online you mean the general term that indicates a state of connectivity. Then it was Stunt Car Racer on two Amiga 500's via a null modem cable. If you mean the Internet then it was either Doom or Warcraft.

What was your first MMO?

I was a bit late to the MMO genre, considering my age. My first was Jumpgate (twitch based cross between X-wing and Elite/X), followed by EVE and Lineage 2.

What is your favorite snack while gaming?

When ever my GF wants to spoil me she lets me play games without disturbing other than to give me a big bag of Katjes - Salty Herrings (salmiac Liquorice). I could stuff my face with those till my gums start bleeding.

When/How did you join Ginnunga?

I am a relatively new member. I joined early 2011 as my old community didnt have much interest in RIFT. Some of them joined Ginnunga in WAR and Kunasha told me you guys were awesome. Back then i thought of Kunasha as a person with high standards so I applied.
Tell us your most memorable MMO moment?

That is a realy tough question. Jumpgate gave me my first coordinated PvP experience. We were a small group of 8 friends who desided to try and deny anyone passage through a busy system. After spending over a month gathering supplies. We moved all our computers to one of the guys workplace to be able to all be in the same room (for fast communication) and still have great connectivity by that times standards lol. We basicly broke the game for everyone else by killing anyone who entered the system for most of a weekend. Only after the server crashed several times late Sunday evening due to everybody wanting a piece of the action we gave up. I had open blisters in my hand from holding my trusty sidewinder joystick almost non stop for more than 40 hours.

Tell us something nobody in the guild knows about you.

At the age of 17, three friends and I went on a weekend mini-cruise. I was so hyped and looked forward to the trip for weeks. Partying, drinking and getting laid was the plan. Before the ship had undocked I got sea sick and spent the whole trip puking and cock blocking my friends by insisting I would jump ship if they left me alone.

Yes it is true, some Ginnungans have started playing Eve. We have even decided to make our own little corp, Ginnunga Inc. [Ginn].
Everytime I see a trailer or some ingame combat from Eve I get excited, because it looks awesome! But then I try it and die of boredom or get confused.
The start of Eve can be quite overwhelming, there is so much to do and even more to learn. Thankfully us new guys are being carried by some old Eve vets who have been playing this on and off for the past few years. So once you get through this clueless noob start, you start to see the universe that is Eve, and it is awesome...and you can piss off anyone you want!

It will be glorious!
My character name is Meilink, it was the nickname from a friend that now is with the angels. I used this name for first time in Lineage 2, before that my name was Ramzon or Mehrunes Dagon (my real name in elvish). Since L2 I used Meilink and created her sister Yurico and her bro Ramzon and I used Himura as last name. Then I have 3 characters in every game now.

I have a facebook profile for Meilink https://www.facebook.com/Meilink04 with ingame pictures.
Since our Guildwars2 adventure was shorter then we would hope for we are sorta in the mists about what new game to focus on. All us leftovers could ofcourse pick up WoW and join our friends on Nordrassil, but I have a feeling that that isnt going to happen. ;)
So untill we have a new MMO we can sink our teeth in we will probably be playing all kind of F2P/cheap/Awesome random games that we come across. A whole bunch of us always hangs out on Teamspeak, which ofcourse is not only for when we play MMO's. So don't forget to come and hang out with your friendly neighberhood Cog&Friends while you play some games.

What's your character’s name and how did you come up with it?

My main character's name is Xiindra. Since there isn't a draenei language as well-known as elvish (like Quenya or Sindarin) I had to do some thinking. draenei come from space and they are humanoids with some animal treats. This can seem pretty far-fetched but it just popped into my head at the time - In Larry Niven's Tales of Known Space, there is an animal race known as Kzinti. Granted, they are furry and cat-like, but still, I wanted to name my character Kzin. However, that was already taken on Draenor, my then-home, so I altered the name to something that was not taken. Kzin, became Xin, which became Xiin, which became Xiindra. Clear logic, isn’t it? :)

My GW2 character's name was way easier. Being a mesmer with illusions the name Inwis, which is an acronym for “It is Not What It Seems”, appeared (pun intended) perfect. I really enjoy looking at opposing players attacking one of my clones. It is truly not always what it seems.

The name has also another meaning. Sylvari are tree-people and nature bound like elves. Inwis means “change of mood”, “moody”, “with an attitude” in Quenya.

How old are you?

Physically, I’m pretty old. I turned 58 in the beginning of november 2012. I have four children ages 17 – 29, three boys and a girl. In my mind I guess I’m still, like, “childish”?

Where do you live?

I live in a small town in northern Sweden. We have winter most of the time. There is a fair amount of ski slopes nearby, even in town next to the ice hockey arena. BTW, our team is in the top of the Elite Series :). The team is very popular with people here. At every year’s first training session on ice there can be several thousand spectators at the arena - lol.

Hemavan - Tärnaby is our county’s local ski resort, about 400 kms from where I live. Now and then I enjoy skiing in the alps, this year (it’s still 2012) in Cervinia in March. It was awesome! I’ve been snowboarding for some time (10 - 15 years?) but I think I’m beginning to get too lazy (or too much of a coward) now so last year I got myself a pair of all-mountain skis. They are so fun! It is interesting to feel that even at mediocre skill you can appreciate new ski technology.

We enjoy a rather short, intensive summer. As we are close to the Bay of Bothnia, and we also have a summer house by the sea, we spend some time in and on the water. However, last summer was mostly rain, rain, and rain, although we managed to repair an rebuild a roof on a small cabin between the showers.

What MMO do you play at the moment?

At this time I primarily play Wow. Second in line comes GW2, which is an awesome game in WvW.

I am not extremely fond of the grinding in Wow, which is worse than ever in MoP. I stay off it as much as I can without hampering my gearing progress. I think I was damaged by the Sons of Hodir.

What I do like are raids, overcoming a challenge together with some really nice people. Playing a priest has had its ups and downs, but in Cata and MoP it has been nice. I also must admit to having a changed view about the pandaren. After having played in the beta I was pretty sure that I would never level a panda. Well, now I have a pandaren monk...

So, primary WoW, casual GW2.

Any other games currently?

I play a little World of Tanks and Skyrim. I used to play Halo a lot, some CS, and COD. I did play Diablo III when it came out. I am sorry to say that I got bored with at some time during Hell Mode, doing things over and over again. Or was it just too hard? Or did I spend too much time at the AH?

For a period I really liked swtor, and I think that the personal storyline in swtor surpasses most other games. The sith and bounty hunter were quite nice, but the imperial agent story was undoubtedly the most exciting one. But was I really in control of myself all the time? Well, I have the Black Codex now so I can do pretty much what I want.

I might go back to the agent if the story continues and seems interesting.

What was your first computer game ever?

Since I began enjoying computers in 1972 or 1973, my first computer game would have been tic-tac-toe or something like that, suited for a Teletype 33 terminal. Actually, when I started my work career after university, as a geophysicist with Boliden Mineral AB in 1981, graphics terminals were not commonplace. We had a Tektronix 4014 vector terminal on which we could draw maps calculated from geophysical measurements, one page at a time, and with a special “erase” button that made you feel that perhaps it did fry your brains out. Not suited for gaming.

What was your first multiplayer online experience?

My first multiplayer on-line game may have been Quake. I think we (me, and a couple of work mates) played in the company offices in Dublin :)

What was your first MMO?

I guess my first real (massive) multiplayer experience was Wow. My older sons had already played it all the way from the first betas I and now my youngest son urged me to at least do the free trial. Well, I only needed one night to get addicted. I also still have the first b’day greeting I received from my son, in-game, saved in my first character’s bank. As I remember, I got 1G with it, and I was RICH :) That occasion was also my first use of an in-game mailbox.

What is your favorite snack while gaming?

While gaming, I like to have some candy but I think I mostly have salted peanuts. On occasion I like a nice glass of whisky, single malt. I will not decline a pale ale either.

When/How did you join Ginnunga?

I joined Ginnunga during the summer 2010. We were a small number of people from the guild Damnati who joined around the same time. I was actually on vacation and at some time I logged on Wow over the cellular network to find that my guild was no more, and some people had joined Ginnunga. Even if you did not have the need for a priest at that time I took a shot at it and it seems my application did the trick :)

There is a rather interesting story to “Ginnungagap” between the realms of Muspelheim and Nifelheim and the original chaos from which the world was eventually created. A cool guild name that did attract me.

Tell us your most memorable MMO moment?

I’ve had many memorable moments in Wow, most of them from boss kills, but there are also small moments that linger in my mind and pop up when such a question is asked. I remember very well my first mount, all of the guild joining me at the Exodar, chipping in to the elekk, as well as the first time I went through the black portal when most of the guild turned up and escorted me, all slowly walking through the gate. A new world opened, the remnants of Draneor to be explored.

Tell us something nobody in the guild knows about you.

That's a hard one since I disclosed so much in my application... Well, as kid I played the violin in a music school. Later at the university I played the flute in the brass band LuHrarne. Tbh, I tried to think of something more exotic, but I couldn’t think of anything.

Greetings people of Tyria, friendly Ginnunga here giving you an update of what’s hot and what’s not in the world of Guild Wars 2!
As you may know we’ve been busy server shopping. It’s a lot like shopping for a house, but much less fuzz about mortgage, location and you get to share your house with several thousand random people already living in it. So... Ok... It’s probably nothing at all like shopping for a house, but it’s been a equally hard decision!

Together with our former Titan Alliance-brethren DtD, ELTE, TRF and DiE we finally decided to make Blackgate our new home. Ernesto was sold once he heard they had a ”Unlimited-AFK in Borderlands”-policy meanwhile Cogency fell in love with the roleplayers dancing in Trader’s Forum. Calyn later heard a rumor that there’s a underground miniature-swap happening at Smuggler’s Waypoint every Saturday morning at the break of dawn, so what’s not to love about our new server?

We care, so we make quality pictures.

We didn’t dwell long on the social aspects of Blackgate but instead headed straight into the WvW-fray. It didn’t take long for us to feel at home when the cries of war sounded all around us and we’ve been plowing migmugs left and right in the name of Blackgate.

Do you even lift?

So, have we found a permanent home? We’re honestly not sure. After moving there’s been a big influx of guilds and it’s already getting a bit crowded. We’ll evaluate during the coming week and keep you posted.

On that topic we’re a bit dumbfounded as to why there’s still free transfers almost 2 months in. We’ve seen bandwagoners ruin serverinitiatives all over and it’s honestly makes picking a home hard.

Your mom has more info.

While playing on Henge of Denravi the queues became unbearable and we often couldn’t field more than a group or two at primetime. That was one of our reasons for leaving and we’d hate to have it happen again. Hopefully ArenaNet will stop this MADNESS soon, or at least restrict it more than they currently do.

Well, that’s all for now fans, see you all on the battlefield!

All good things must come to an end, so also Titan Alliance. But as we announce its retirement as an alliance on Henge of Denravi it is not with heavy hearts, but with fond remembrance and anticipation for the future.

Together with ARMA, DIE, CND, DROW, DTD, ELITE, LUC, PRX, RMA, SOA, SYN, TRG, TRF, ULTD and YAKI we long before launch set up a pretty optimistic goal: to make HoD the most successfull Guild Wars 2 NA server.

Since the launch of GW2 we've had 30 matchups and not lost a single one. We beat every server, every alliance and every opponent that stood before us. We succeeded.

Strong Titans claiming a Orb of Power.

There has been a lot of turmoil following our success, not least on the forums. We've let our actions speak louder than words ever could. We set out with the goal to win, and we won. Everything else is secondary.

Titan Alliance accomplished its goal and the time as come to let the behemoth rest. For the good of the game and for our own enjoyment. We don't want matchups that are over after three days, we crave mayhem and destruction day in and day out!

So, what's next for Titan Alliance?
A couple of guilds have already left HoD in search for greener pastures. Some remain to keep fighting and yet some decided to call it quits in GW2.

A comprehensive list can be found on gw2guru in the following post:
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/69726-final-destintion/

What does the future hold for Ginnunga?
Ginnunga is far from done in Guild Wars 2, but have yet to decide where we'll hang our hat. We're still weighing our options, trying to figure out where we'd have most fun and challenge.

What we do know is that we've had a fantastic time as part of TA. We've made new friends from all around the world and have constantly been impressed by the level of cooperation and friendship that's been shown. We wish everyone the best of luck in future endeavours and hope too meet again, on either side of the battlefield.

Rest well Titan, your name will forever bring joy in the hearts of Ginnunga.

Today marks Ginnungas first month playing Guild Wars 2, and what a month it has been! From our first trembling steps upon Tyrias soil to becoming a well oiled machine of clowning, feared throughout the land. We've had a fantastic time so far among kitties, gremlins and twigs and it's all just getting started!

Even though most know us as a die hard band of seasoned veterans, lusting for nothing more than blood and beer, there's also a more gentle side to Ginnunga. A perfect example is Dansula who recently found the cutest little Asura and decided to cuddle him. We've decided to share the picture of their awkward snuggle to somewhat start this news post of on a bright note, cause from here on there's nothing but death and destruction.

As most of you know the week long matchups started september 14th and Henge of Denravi's first pairing was against Stormbluff Isle and Jade Quarry. We went all in, took an early lead and come midweek the match was more or less over.

Ginnunga handled JQ's Borderland. Enough said.

But things were about to change, in quite a brutal manner. Four days ago we were once again matched against Stormbluff Isle and our old enemies on Eredon Terrace. To no surprise they both decided to gun for the top dog, but we didn't quite expect them to bring the mother f*cking artillery. We got beaten like misbehaved brats trying to stir shit up at a catholic school all weekend.
For every keep we captured, they took two away.
For every enemy we slayed, we lost two comrades.
For every cookie we tried to steal, our trembling fingers got to taste the ruler.
However we tried to split our forces the opposition from two servers was overwhelming and come sunday evening we were down a staggering 30.000 points. Way behind ET in second place and SBI on top. Their unofficial alliance had paid off, big time.

They see me trebbin', they hatin'.

We might have been down for the count, but far from out. We knew the weekdays would offer some relief and come monday the machinery that is Titan Alliance slowly gained momentum. Guild Wars 2 is all about global warfare, where we excel. Ginnunga has been fighting relentlessly during our primetime and our Oceanic brothers in DiE, ELTE, SYN, TRF and Yaki have been pulling a monster load during theirs. Meanwhile CND, PRX and the remaining American guilds have furiously defended our positions while the other servers peaked.

Current score.

From being down 30.000 we've clawed our way up, left ET behind and we have no intention of stopping. This match is very far from over, but seeing Henge of Denravi once again come back against the odds has been nothing but pure joy. We're looking forward to the remaining three days of insane fights!

A special shout out to our opponents in War Machine, [WM] of Stormbluff Isle. The Korean guild who were extremely successful in Guild Wars 1 have shown that switching games didn't dampen their fighting spirits. They bring their A-game every single fight and are a constant thorn in our side.

The match ends friday and we'll be sure to post the result, win or lose. See you on the battlefield!

When ArenaNet today released the official server rankings for Guild Wars 2 one of R. Kellys songs sprung to mind. For those that didn't know he's not only famous for his odd preference between the sheets, but has also made some pretty phenomenal music. And as I'm writing this I can't help to think R. Kelly might also be an oracle. It's extremely likely that he was thinking about the future Henge of Denravi when he composed one of his best songs in 2002.

I'm that star up in the sky

As you've probably guessed by now Henge of Denravi is currently the worlds best Guild Wars 2 server. Closely followed by European Vizunah Square. The full list can be found here:

Servers tremble in fear when faced with the God Goblin.

Joking aside, we're humbled by our success. It's been great fun and a whole bunch of really close fights over the past few weeks. Big thanks to our opponents and allies alike, you're making this game tons of fun!

It's no secret that we, up to the past weekend, had a good run in WvW. Finally this saturday and sunday we were matched against our biggest rivals: Eradon Terrace. Home of Ascension Alliance, Team Legacy and the juggernaut guild Ruin. Saturdays match pitched us against ET and Stormbluff Isles, which we won comfortable. Sunday saw a return of our old rivals, Jade Quarry, and the match became the most epic 24 hour battle so far in Guild Wars 2s short history.
Ginnunga was part of the crew whose responsibility was Jade Quarrys borderland, where our members fought gloriously for the better part of the matchup. Every supply camp, tower and keep became a battle of life and death as the score during the whole day was dead even.
JQ and ET decided early on to team up against us, sometimes even assaulting the same keep from different directions. But who can blame them, everyone wants to take down the top dog.

I won't lie, for a few hours during midday victory seemed far far away. We were in last place, down a couple thousand points and relentlessly being attacked on two fronts.

But the tide turned.

After fighting a uphill battle for most of the day our brethren in Titan Alliance suddenly in the afternoon captured Stonemist Castle in a Blitzkrieg attack. Using no less than five siege golems, and a coordinated thief-squad to keep them cloaked all the way to the keep, our allies Synapse obliterated a wall in the blink of an eye. Titan forces poured into the keep and quickly dispatched the lord.
The capture seemed to breathe new life into our battle weary forces. Suddenly the tally was slightly in our favor and at times by as little as 10 points per 5 minutes we started gaining ground. The cooperation between JQ and ET crumbled and we were quick to use it to our advantage.
The battle swayed back and forth all through the day. One tally we'd take 60 points, but five minutes later we were neck to neck with ET. But the wind was blowing our way. Come late dinner time we inched ahead, by a mere 4 points, for the first time in the matchup. ET and JQ were quick to retaliate, throwing everything, everyone AND their mothers at us. The last few hours became a fierce battle over the entire map where every objective was crucial.
The very last hour in JQ's borderland we desperatly clung to our only remaining keep, Dreaming Bay. Our enemies kept coming in a seemingly endless stream from all directions, but we stood relentless on the walls while raining death and destruction on the attackers. Ernestos arrows glistened in the torchlight, Howleys meteor shower lit up the night and Tumbles grenades flew in deadly arches, leaving craters and corpses in the enemies midst. Sections of the walls crumbled around us as trebuchets and catapults continuously bombarded the keep, but just as quickly as a section fell it was repaired and remanned.
As our supplies dwindled it seemed like Dreaming Bay would fall, but dawn was on the horizon. So we dug in. Shoulder to shoulder, shield to shield.

Map a few minutes before the end. Dreaming Bay stands strong.

Finally the clock struck 01.00 am and from Dreaming Bay rose a roar heard throughout the land. We were victorious! We had come back against overwhelming odds, pulling off a win when many considered us down and out.

As close as it gets.

Big props to our opponents for pushing us to new heights. We look forward to crossing sword again on the battlefield.

After the insane fighting on sunday things have calmed down a bit. Ascension Alliance declared they would no longer make a play for the 24 hours-matches and Henge of Denravi has continued it's no-loss-streak.

Scores from the past few days.

This friday marks a new dawn for WvW. The 24 hour-matches are gone and instead we'll be fighting a full week in each match up. How this will affect the flow of battles remains to be seen, but you can be certain we'll be out in force, plowing migmugs left and right.

See you on the battlefield.

A week and a half has passed since Ginnunga set its foot upon our new home, the server Henge of Denravi in Guild Wars 2. As with any MMORPG-launch there's been a abundance of things to explore, fight, experience and see during our stay and our members have been keeping quite busy in Tyria.
Besides the obvious leveling treadmill we've been tearing up the Eternal Battleground together with our brethren in Titan Alliance. A few days in we even claimed our first keep!

It shall henceforth be known as "The Man Keep".

We won't lie, we've had a pretty successful run in WvWvW so far. The cooperation in Titan Alliance is outstanding and has ensured that we this far haven't lost a single matchup.

A selection of our latest matchups.

At the same time we have yet to be matched against our most fierce competitors and remain humble. What we can say is that we're having an amazing time and we'd like to thank both our allies and enemies for alot of memorable fights the past days.

There's also been some time to go sightseeing, and the only real way to experience the borderlands is from comfortable cockpit of a Siege Golem.

Just walking ma' pile o' junk.

We would also like to officially welcome our newest full members Egwyne, Cupe and Akura. We hope your future in Ginnunga is as bright and glorious as Ernestos ego.

Stay tuned for more madness as we delve deeper into the constantly changing world of Tyria!

The servers have been online roughly 80 hours and guess what, Ginnunga got its first level 80! Pettiness like sleep, fatigue or having a real life didn't bother our beloved Calyn who took a early lead in the leveling race and finished an amazing 16 levels ahead of the closest contender.
Out of the 80 hours the server has been online it took him 63 hours and 42 minuts to reach max level.

OP Necro is OP...

We of course took the opportunity to have a chat with Calyn about the game, his leveling and thoughts of days ahead.

Is there anything you'd like to say Mr "80"?
Ern is pig.

What will you do now that you're level 80?
Search for peaches!

Ok... Got any tips for the people still struggling?
Stop slacking.

He then dissapeared to a waypoint far far away in search for fruit. To be fair he didn't get to level 80 by beeing social, so what could one expect.

It's less than 16 hours till the release of Ginnungas next big adventure, Guild Wars 2. For years the hype has been building, reaching astronomical proportions as we painfully endure the last few hours until we, for real, set foot upon Tyria.

The servers, for those with headstart, are set to go live at 09.00 CET, but it has been said that they might come up as much as 3 hours early, so get ready to camp that login from 06.00.

We've all been hit by the pre-release jitters, but what sets Ginnunga apart from the plebs is how we deal with it. Calmly. Focused. But, alas, we are not completely immune to excitement. During the last few days some members have been acting a tad odd, even more so than usual.

Ernesto is so excited he forgot to go AFK last night, even though "Project Runway" was airing.
Calyn is so excited he hasn't even cancelled his subscription yet.
Depraved is so ol.. excited that the staff at the nursing home had to give him a double dose of sedatives for nap time.
Argee is so excited he wrote an entire post without being condescending.
Cogency is so excited he found four new hobbies (RC cars not included) to keep him occupied the last 24 hours.
Ove is so excited he went out, got drunk and asked a girl to roleplay an Asura. She did.
Drexa is so excited he sounded cheerful once on Teamspeak. Just once though.
Kunasha is so excited he forgot he was pregnant.
Meilink is always excited, so it's hard to say if he even knows there's a release coming.
Llewela is so exited he drank an entire glass of water, before realising it wasn't champagne.
Howley is so exited he's been naked since the gathering.

So, as you can see we all have our ways of coping with the pressure that's building. In just a few hours we'll release all this frustration as we storm the servers in search for experience, blood, gold and glory.

See you in game!
