About the MMO guild Ginnunga

- Who we are
Ginnunga is an online gaming guild based in Europe which was formed in 1999 with focus on MMOs. We have a basic set of rules and morals that guides our behaviour, regardless of which game we play and our motto has always been that we should have fun together. This does however not mean that we are just a family guild. We play to win - not always to be the best, but we are quite aware of quality, not just in personality and behaviour, but also in game excellence. We are currently playing Guild Wars 2 on Blackgate and WoW on Nordrassil

Late post on this but nonetheless excellent work on Cho'Gall, we ended up getting a ton of top rankings on World of logs from this kill but I guess there aren't too many people doing 10 man heroic at a serious level.

Ah yes did I mention 10 man? Not to spoil the moment but the guild is dealing with the worst roster situation we've had in some time, it's good that we can still progress despite these problems but they do put a shadow over things.

Here's the url:

Well Blizzard strikes again with the hotfixes, I'm glad we managed to down Omnomnomtron before they nerfed the fight into the ground. That's not to say the core of the fight is gone, it's still there but it's more like a snack you can finish in a couple of bites compared to the previous hearty brunch it was beforehand.

Ok ok no more food anologies, this is wearing a little thin, we also downed Magmaw! Unfortunately given that we spent something like 3 hours on it in total it's probably not too challenging a fight overall now but I'd rather look at this as us getting the focus we need back to start making some headway with the heroics especially after an awful end to Sundays raid when networking problems forcing us to end over 30+ minutes early. More good news soon, I promise.

In other news we also killed Conclave, hooray! While Reck would be reassuring me statistically this is the 3rd easiest boss I would respond with it's a giant pain in the arse I never want to put up with again. Kinda like Obsidian Sanctum 3 Drakes but without the fun and loot and stuff... Did I mention I hate this fight?

Good work to everyone that showed up for our first Omnotron 25 heroic kill and welcome to the new trials that have joined recently.

I don't have much to say on the fight, the difficulty was just about right for this level of content but these kind of fights are always a little annoying when one person can just destroy the entire raid without trying too hard.

Videos to follow as soon as Ultimate fixes his Russian computer and we'll be aiming for a Conclave kill before the week is out.

Thank you Ultimate for supplying this lovely rendition of our first Atramedes heroic kill. The likeness is uncanny and I will come to rely on your artistic talent in the future.

I think this was our 2nd raid day on this guy but I do regret putting it off for so long, while he's not a complete push over and seeing the raid explode into a million glittery pieces while you're barely getting warmed up is a little demoralising it's also quite rewarding to see how quickly the raid can organise itself and take a fight seriously.

Good work guys, next stop... Conclave if I can stop myself vomitting all over Rohash or perhaps Omnotron... Tune in next time to find out. Also Holy Paladins, send in those apps.

No, no, we didn't kill Ultimate, we killed Nefarians favourite son on heroic! Overall a nice little fight although after the changes even if we did a not so great job the DPS requirement isn't too harsh at all.

This kill should have happened 1-2 weeks ago but between the zone bugging and locking out some people on heroic, followed by us having to abandon 10 man due to the new system Blizzard uses and a 1% wipe last week but that's in the past now.

Moving on I intend us to take out Conclave next, it should be easy enough on 25 man and maybe net us a big fat juicy dkp bonus for our troubles but we shall see as no one can predict exactly what Zetzek will do on Rohash's platform.

We picked Halfus as our first boss to focus on in heroic and we'll probably continue the trend when we move on to Maloriak or Chimaeron.

I like the approach they took when designing this fight, the normal version varies each week and requires a pretty standard raid composition while the heroic fight still brings some variety depending on your strategy. If I were to complain about one thing it'd be the heroic version encouraging you to stack healers, of course it would have been a tad easier before they nerf disc healing on main tanks.

Anyway on with the show, more updates real soon.

In an excellent end to our last unofficial Christmas break raiding week we managed to kill Al'Akir and Nefarian for the first time (Al'Akir seems something of a push over, Nefarian certainly is not). Admittedly these are only 10 man raids but it's testament to the groups' composition and ability that we managed this and cleared out the bosses left in BoT.

This of course gave us more protector tier loot. Back in ICC while our DKs, Druids and Rogues were wearing their threadbare greys our Warriors and Shamans were fully decked out in both main spec and off spec tier loot so please Blizzard enough with the bloody protector loot.

Moving onto our first official raid of the new year we will be looking towards finishing off these bosses in 25 man and moving on to heroics, several of our members are not fully prepared for that just yet both from a gear and a full understanding of the boss encounters but this will go swiftly.

Fantastic work today guys, keep it up.
