What's you character name and how did you come up with it?
I've been using Eaglix as main character name since 2005. Before that I called myself El Lion. This comes from my real name 'Lionel' and refers to the lion, king of the animals.
I wasn't satisfied with El Lion so I found out a new nickname. It became Eaglix, from Eagle, the king of the sky.
How old are you?
I'm 23. Ernesto once told me that I sound very young on TS. I've never had the chance to reply, the old man never stops talking. Then there was facebook and I saw Ern on pictures. A reply instantly popped up in my mind: "Ernesto, your voice sounds very heavy for such a skinny guy." I didn't tell him that back then because he said I was so cute. I decided that the time wasn't right for my reply as he was being nice. Now the time is ripe :).
Where do you live?
In Belgium, Brussels. I speak French at home, but study in Dutch. I've recently bought a house here in Brussels. It will be finished Q1 2012. I'll put pictures on the forum when I feel like it, as I want to share this big step with you all!
What MMO do you play at the moment?
I recently stopped playing WoW (again - sorry), so I don't really have anything to play atm. Out of nostalgy, I'm logging in on Tibia from time to time, the first MMO I've ever played. It's a very old (1997?) 2D game. The style of game that makes Calyn say "BEST GAME EVER".
Any other games currently?
Nope. I totally sucked at Magicka demo so I didn't bother. I'll probably play the next mmorpg that comes out, as long as enough Ginnungians play it too.
The only game I'm personally looking forward to is Guild Wars 2.
What was your first computer game ever?
Well, it was either Tibia or Guild Wars, I don't remember. I had the best times in Tibia. You can compare it to Lineage in 2D. High death penalty, player killing and power abuse, a lot of exp required to reach high levels, .... Now it has changed. Like all games, it's been tuned for casuals.
What was your first multiplayer online experience?
Roaming aroud in the lands of Tibia with Elenti and Amaryd (retired WoW Nordrassil players) killing everything on sight, and eventually getting killed too. People begging not to get killed, rage and emo ... Good times for us, bad for the victims :p
What was your first MMO?
Same as my first game. I've never really played anything else than MMO's. I've tried Starcraft II and Magicka, but it's not my genre. I suck with hotkeys and having to manage too many different things at once is not my cup of tea. I'll have a shout again at Diablo III, but I hope that Guild Wars 2 will be good enough to keep me busy for a few years again.
What is your favorite snack while gaming?
Whatever lies on the desck will do, as long as it has chocolate in or around it :)
When/How did you join Ginnunga?
2 years ago when I started playing WoW on Nordrassil. Those were great times. I was playing with my best rl friend Amaryd and his brother. When Amaryd retired, I did the same. But we both had excellent times there and I was very satisfied of our performance.
I recently tried again on the Stormreaver side, but I lost most of my skill and didn't have the time to read and prepare myself like I did on Nordrassil. I've recently started at the police academy so I rather spend time to study for my future job than for a virtual character. I decided it was better for me to just leave.
Tell us your most memorable mmo moment.
Getting in the top 5 players of our game world in Tibia. I was sharing a character (despite the rules saying it's forbidden) with Amaryd. We waited months for a new game world to launch. When it launched, I played 36 hours straight to get us out of Rookgaard. Usually it takes only 2 hours, but there was a lot of competition. We were the 8th person in mainland and then stayed in the top 5 for all the time we played. We eventually quit because of disconnects. Those were fatal, as every disconnect was a synonym for death, and the death penalty was very high.
This was also the first time I used the name 'Eaglix'.
New you can just transfer characters through game worlds ... sad!
Tell us something nobody in the guild knows about you.
I always thought Janne was a girl. His name on the forum is in pink and he just keeps talking (posting), so I was sure he was a girl (sorry girls :p). Also, Janne is a girl's name over here.
But Janne, don't worry, you are a great and helpful man ;)
